Whitfield & Eddy Law special presentation:
Divorce, Custody, and Family Law Issues – What’s a Council To Do? April 20, 2021
On April 20, Whitfield and Eddy attorneys Kay Oskvig (employment law) and Tyler Coe (divorce and family law) will provide a special one-hour presentation via Zoom to council members and staff who navigate difficult family law issues as part of their extension role.
Tyler and Kay will give an overview on the child custody process and offer concrete suggestions for council members and staff when a parent asks the council to change registration forms, follow a custody order, answer a subpoena, or testify during a custody trial. This scenario-based training will take real examples from past extension council questions. Tyler and Kay hope that every attendee will feel more comfortable and confident handling these stressful situations. Join us Tuesday, April 20 from 4:00 to 5:00pm.
All are invited and there is no fee to attend, but pre-registration is required. The zoom link will be distributed the day before the training. It is suggested that, perhaps, your extension council plans a special meeting for all members and staff to view the training together as a council development activity and to discuss any changes your county should or could make as a result of what you’ve learned during the training.
Target Audience: extension council members, county extension staff, regional directors, and 4-H staff
