Employer Update

This webinar was presented by Andrea Nelson, Assistant Vice President for County Services and Jennifer Vit, IECA Executive Director in May, 2024.  Topics covered include independent contractors, Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), and employees as volunteers. Each topic has been divided into its own video below.

Fair Labor Standards Act - Independent Contractors: This is the portion of the full employers update that provides information about changes to how the FLSA defines independent contractors.

 

Pregnant Workers Fairness Act - This is the portion of the employer update that covers the PWFA including responsibilities of the employer and supervisor.
This video covers the legal opinion for protocol of how employees can serve in volunteer roles within the county extension program.
