Join IECA at the Iowa Capitol on Tuesday, February 11 for breakfast in the Legislative Dining Room from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. We'll be sharing how ISU Extension and Outreach makes an impact in every legislative district. Registration is open.
To prepare for meeting with legislators, IECA will host a legislative briefing via Zoom on February 6, 7:00 - 7:30 p.m. The Zoom link will be sent to all registrants for the legislative breakfast.
“We have three main priorities for the year,” said IECA Executive Director Jennifer Vit. "First, share Extension and Outreach’s impact statewide and in each legislative district. Second, share the message that ‘Investing in Extension and Outreach is investing in Iowa.’ And third, share information about Iowa State University’s FY26 appropriation request, of which $1M is earmarked for Extension and Outreach.
“Extension council members who have attended in the past have enjoyed meeting their legislators and sharing the impacts of ISU Extension and Outreach in their county and across the state,” said Vit. “It's exciting to be at the Capitol and engage in the legislative process.”
